On my German-language blog, I launched a July Challenge, in which I planned to sketch or draw a horse every day.

Since I’ve been taking so many photos of the horses in the countryside lately, I wanted to actively use these photos to help remedy my lack of drawing skills when it comes to horses.

After all, what better way to practice drawing horses than by drawing them regularly?

You can join in either through my German forum. I’ve created a special section here where there’s a separate theme for each photo: July Challenge: Horse Photo Templates for Every Day

Or you can post your photo using the hashtag #Pferdechallenge on Instagram, for example, or wherever else you’re active on social media (feel free to include a link to your post here in the comments).

I’ve now selected my photo templates based on perspective and pose, and mixed them up a bit so that different images from a series don’t all appear in a row, but there’s more variety.
