This category is about how to draw mythical creatures. Hardly any subject stimulates people’s imagination as much as mythical creatures and mystical figures. Whether shaped from religion, sagas and legends or other wild stories, these fairy tale and fantasy figures are always a popular motif among artists.

The concrete origin and thus the exact appearance of the figures are known in very few cases. This allows the draftsman to give free rein to his imagination and create details according to his own wishes.

Colors and shapes are not subject to strict rules, but can be created freely and creatively. Only in the case of mixed creatures with animals and humans, it is advantageous to represent the depicted animal or human figure in a somewhat believable manner, so as not to deprive the figure in its entirety of impact.

Thus, for mermaids, both human drawing and the depiction of fish and other sea creatures is helpful. For centaurs, drawing horses helps on top of that.

All in all, the artist is completely free to draw mythical creatures and create their own versions.
