In this category you will find the basics of drawing and painting.
Learning to draw is something everyone would like to do. And in fact, anyone who wants can just start drawing at any time and try as he wants. Sure, everyone has different views on the result and not everyone has the talent to be a gifted artist, but after all, no master fell from the sky. In art there is no good or bad. Everyone sees strokes, lines or more complex figures with different eyes. Learning to draw is nevertheless always associated with practice.
Remember: Talent cannot replace hard work!
So if you practice regularly, have fun with it and set yourself new standards more often, you can go very far. The saying practice makes perfect has its justification here. Whether as a hobby or possibly professionally, you can draw and paint in any place (at home in the living room or on the road in the park) without any problems.
In addition, you do not need to purchase expensive equipment, such as tennis. All you need is a pad of paper and a simple ballpoint pen to get started. Whatever comes out of your attempts, it is important that you do not set your goals too high in the beginning and do not lose patience. Otherwise, first attempts can be quite frustrating, and that would be a shame.
So have fun painting and drawing!
Basics of drawing & drawing from the head
Drawing from the head
Not everyone has the imagination, practice or experience to draw perfect pictures from the head.
Since I have drawn since early childhood, however, only from the head, I can certainly show in the field of experience quite a bit.
Certainly, drawing with a ballpoint pen, which you can not erase, has trained me in some respect. You have to draw more thoughtfully and consider each stroke individually.
Basics (Shapes)
After a few years, I came across a fascinating book (“Drawing and Painting” by Brian Bagnall*) that explained very clearly how to use the basic shapes.
With the help of another book (“How to draw Cartoon Animals – Comics made easy” by Christopher Hart*) I realized that the usage is relatively simple. And so I tried it out myself.
It was not easy to get used to it at the beginning, because I had always sketched and worked out the complete motif beforehand. I had to learn to reduce the motif to the basic shapes like circles and squares.
Drawing
After a while I had the hang of it and then I dared to use templates like photos. I had to apply the technique of reducing the motif to photos as well. It helped me that I also limited the motif in a frame.
Of course, the most difficult thing is to reproduce the proportions correctly. Even with the basic shapes this was not so easy. Therefore I added the bounding box, which helped me to estimate how the proportions should be. Further guide lines step by step in the picture help to slowly approach a useful sketch.
